An opportunity to apply knowledge and learn together through life-like cases
Each of the case-based learning (CBL) sessions listed below provides an opportunity to apply the core knowledge delivered via the asynchronous lecture modules. These cases were derived directly from the four core modules (Respiratory Failure & Mechanical Ventilation; Shock & Hemodynamic Interpretation; Acid-Base, AKI & Renal Replacement Therapy; and Post-Operative Management of the Cardiothoracic Surgical Patient) so that these in-person sessions reinforce and extend the pre-work rather than duplicate it. Each case is designed so that learners analyze an unfolding scenario through focused, open-ended questions, generate and prioritize hypotheses, and debate the evidence with one another under facilitator guidance.
